What Analysts Expect from Nokia in Q2 2018

Average revenue estimate of $6.17 billion

Nokia (NOK) is expected to report its second-quarter results on July 26. Analysts expect revenue of $6.17 billion, a marginal fall of 0.4% YoY (year-over-year) compared to $6.2 billion in Q2 2017. Its non-GAAP EPS is expected to be $0.05, a fall of 44.4% YoY compared to $0.09 in Q2 2017.

Peer communication equipment companies Cisco Systems (CSCO), Juniper Networks (JNPR), and Ericsson (ERIC) are expected to announce their quarterly results on August 15, July 26, and July 18, respectively.

Nokia beat earnings estimates in three of the last four quarters

As you can see in the above chart, Nokia has managed to beat analysts’ average earnings estimates in three of the last four quarters. It beat analysts’ Q4 2017 earnings estimate of $0.11 by 36.4% with reported EPS of $0.15. Nokia also beat analysts’ earnings estimate of $0.06 by 83.3% in Q3 2017 with reported EPS of $0.11.

In Q2 2017, analysts expected Nokia to post EPS of $0.05. It reported EPS of $0.09, which was 80% above the estimate. In Q1 2018, its EPS was $0.02, which was 50% below the estimate of $0.04.
