However, unlike Aphria (APHQF), which is reliant on a single facility, MedReleaf has a diversified facility base similar to those of Canopy Growth (WEED) and Aurora Cannabis (ACB). Let’s look at it in more detail.
MedReleaf currently has a completed facility of 55,000 square feet in Markham, Ontario. In addition, the company will develop its Bradford, Ontario, facility with a total of 211,000 square feet of capacity in two phases.
As of the date of this writing, Phase 1 of the Bradford facility is complete, and together with the Markham facility, it has a cultivation capacity of 17,000 kilograms per year. With the completion of Phase 2, the cumulative total cultivation capacity will be 266,000 square feet of capacity with a total cultivation capacity of 35,000 kilograms annually.
In addition to these facilities, the company acquired 1 million square feet of capacity in Exeter, Ontario, on February 26, 2018. This facility is currently a greenhouse infrastructure, and it will be retrofitted to produce cannabis. The first harvest is expected to take place by the end of 2018. After completion, this facility will have a total production capacity 105,000 kilograms annually, and together with the Markham and Bradford facilities, MedReleaf will achieve a total capacity of 1.3 million square feet and produce 140,000 kilograms of cannabis each year.
Next, let’s discuss capacity expansion at Cronos (CRON).
