Ares Capital’s Dividend to Remain the Same in 2017

Ares Capital Corporation (ARCC) is expected to declare a dividend of $1.52 per share in 2017. In 2016, the company declared a total dividend of $1.52 per share. Ares Capital declared a quarterly dividend of $0.38 per share in May 2015. Since then, the company has been consistent in declaring the same quarterly dividends. 

In August 2017, the company declared a quarterly dividend of $0.38 per share, and this dividend should be paid in September 2017.

BlackRock Capital Investment (BKCC) is expected to declare dividends of $0.72 per share in 2017, reflecting a decline of ~14.3% from the dividends declared in 2016. In March 2017, BlackRock Capital Investment declared a quarterly dividend of $0.18 per share, which was paid in April 2017. 

In August 2017, the company declared a quarterly dividend of $0.18 per share, which would be paid in October 2017.

Return on equity

Ares Capital Corporation (ARCC) has delivered an ~9.2% return on its equity. However, other investment management companies (XLF) have delivered the following returns on equity:

  • BlackRock Capital Investment (BKCC): ~-12.5%
  • Prospect Capital (PSEC): 2.9%
  • Apollo Investment Corporation (AINV): ~1.2%
