In the previous part of this series, we discussed Verizon’s network performance in the Charlotte market. Now let’s look at the latest network performances in Columbus, Ohio.

Based on the 2H16 RootScore report, Verizon (VZ) won the top spot in Columbus for overall performance. Let’s look at the overall performance of the top four US wireless carriers in this market.

Verizon’s network performance

According to the 2H16 RootScore report for Columbus, Verizon won the top spot across all six network performance categories—overall performance, network reliability, speed, data, call performance, and text performance. AT&T (T), T-Mobile (TMUS), and Sprint (S) came in second, third, and fourth place, respectively, in overall network performance.

Verizon and AT&T did not record any blocked calls during the testing. Verizon did not record any dropped calls as well during the testing. The fastest median download speed of 25.2 Mbps was recorded by Verizon, and the fastest median upload speed of 16.2 Mbps was recorded by T-Mobile during the testing.

In the 1H16 RootScore report for Columbus, Verizon won the top spot across five out of six categories—overall performance, network reliability, speed, data, and call performance. Zero blocked or dropped calls were recorded by Verizon during the testing.

The fastest median download speed of 24.2 Mbps was recorded by Verizon, and the fastest median upload speed of 18.2 Mbps was recorded by T-Mobile during the testing. T-Mobile’s rate of dropped calls increased from 0.0% to 0.6% in the first half of 2016 compared to the second half of 2015.
