Focus on simplification of applications

Cognizant’s third strategic initiative is to transform the existing information technology infrastructure of clients by simplifying the development of applications. This will not only help clients to enhance potential from digital technologies but also help in the standardization of IT infrastructure at an “appropriate cost.”

The CEO of Cognizant, Francisco D’Souza, stated, “We’re making good progress in each of these areas, and we’re confident that this framework will differentiate our services and solutions in the marketplace now and in the future.”

In June 2016, IDC (International Data Corporation) named US-based (SPY) Cognizant Technology Solutions (CTSH) a leader in the Worldwide Business Analytics Consulting and System Integration Services space. IDC recognizes Cognizant’s ability to “transform data into tangible business benefits through a global innovation and delivery ecosystem.”

Cognizant has increased its focus on high growth and high profit segments of its business consulting and business process outsourcing (or BPO). The company is also eyeing the lucrative and disruptive cloud market to grow revenues in the long term.

Digital transformation are key drivers for peer companies such as Accenture (ACN) and India (EPI) based Infosys (INFY) and Wipro (WIT).
