Together, the top ten investors in TC Energy (TRP) bought net 5.9 million TC Energy shares in the first quarter. Four of the top ten investors reduced their TC Energy positions, while six added to their positions during the quarter. The notable “buy” transactions included a purchase of 3.2 million shares by Wellington Management Company. Wellington Management Company is the second-largest investor in TC Energy. Wellington Management Company holds 3.4% of TC Energy’s outstanding shares. T. Rowe Price Associates, the largest investor in TC Energy, sold 2.4 million shares in the first quarter.

Other notable recent transactions include the sell-off by Capital Research Global Investors and Mackenzie Financial. Capital Research Global Investors sold its entire position of 38.5 million TC Energy shares. Mackenzie Financial sold off its entire 16.1 million shares. BMO Nesbitt Burns bought 2.7 million TC Energy shares in the first quarter. BMO Nesbitt Burns holds 2.2% of TC Energy’s outstanding shares.

Top investors in Enbridge

Together, the top ten investors in Enbridge (ENB) sold net 5.4 million Enbridge shares in the first quarter. Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec sold 12.6 million Enbridge shares. The investor reduced its stake in the stock to 1.6%. Fidelity Investments Canada ULC sold 10.4 million Enbridge shares in the first quarter. Capital World Investors and RBC Global Asset Management sold 4.2 million and 3.6 million shares, respectively. Five of the top ten investors in Enbridge added to their positions, while five investors reduced their positions in the stock.

Among the notable “buy” transactions, Capital International Investors bought 13.1 million shares. RBC Wealth Management International bought 10.5 million Enbridge shares during the first quarter. Capital Research Global Investors sold 12.5 million Enbridge shares. Mackenzie Financial and State Street Global Advisors sold 7.0 million and 6.6 million shares, respectively.
