Schlumberger: Top Institutional Investors Increased Their Holdings

Top investors in Schlumberger

The top three institutional investors in Schlumberger (SLB) are the Vanguard Group, State Street Global Advisors, and BlackRock Institutional Trust Company. All three of the institutional investors added to their Schlumberger positions in the fourth quarter. The Vanguard Group bought 1.2 million Schlumberger shares in the fourth quarter. State Street Global Advisors bought 3.7 million shares, while BlackRock Institutional Trust Company added 3.1 million shares to its position in the fourth quarter.

As the above table shows, the Vanguard Group owns 7.9% of Schlumberger’s outstanding shares. State Street Global Advisors owns 4.9%, while BlackRock Institutional Trust Company owns 4.6% of Schlumberger’s outstanding shares.

Together, the top ten investors added 18.3 million Schlumberger shares to their positions in the fourth quarter. Collectively, the ten investors own 31.6% of Schlumberger’s outstanding shares. At the end of the third quarter, the top ten investors owned 30.9% of Schlumberger’s outstanding shares.

As the above table shows, seven out of the top ten institutional investors added to their Schlumberger positions in the fourth quarter.

Recent transactions

Among the largest “buy” transactions, Two Sigma Investments bought 11.8 million Schlumberger shares. Capital International Investors bought 10.1 million shares, while First Eagle Investment Management bought 8.2 million Schlumberger shares, according to the latest filings.

Among the largest “sell” transactions, Capital World Investors sold 11 million Schlumberger shares. Wellington Management sold 8.1 million shares, while Sustainable Growth Advisers sold 6.2 million Schlumberger shares.
