Cheniere Energy (LNG), a liquified natural gas export company, is scheduled to report its fourth-quarter and fiscal 2018 earnings on February 26. According to analysts’ consensus estimates, Cheniere Energy will report an EBITDA of $562 million for the quarter ending December 31. In the same quarter in 2017, the company reported earnings of $545 million. In the third quarter, Cheniere Energy posted an EBITDA of $538 million.
According to analysts’ forecasts, Cheniere Energy is expected to report total revenues of $1.76 billion for the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter of 2017, the company generated total revenues of $1.75 billion.
Cheniere Energy started the liquefied natural gas production at its Corpus Christi terminal in November. The company has recorded substantial earnings growth over the last few years, which is reflected in its market performance. The stock has more than doubled over the last three years. Cheniere Energy stock has risen more than 10% this year.
For fiscal 2018, Cheniere Energy is expected to report revenues of $7.36 billion based on the fourth-quarter estimates, which represents a potential growth of more than 30% YoY (year-over-year). Significant discoveries, particularly in the Utica Shale and Marcellus regions, and coal replacing gas as a cleaner energy source drove the liquefied natural gas demand.
After delivering a strong performance in the third quarter, Cheniere Energy’s management raised its adjusted EBITDA guidance to $2.45 billion–$2.55 billion for 2018, which implies an increase of 44% YoY.
