What’s Expected for CenturyLink’s Fourth-Quarter Earnings

CenturyLink’s earnings trends

CenturyLink’s (CTL) pro forma, non-GAAP EPS are expected to rise ~175% YoY (year-over-year) from $0.12 to $0.33 in the fourth quarter, and ~77.8% YoY from $0.63 to $1.12 in 2018. In the first nine months of 2018, CenturyLink’s adjusted EPS grew ~58.8% YoY from $0.51 to $0.81. The telecom company’s adjusted EPS rose ~57.9% YoY from $0.19 to $0.30 in the third quarter.

Peer comparison

To compare, AT&T’s (T) adjusted EPS are expected to grow ~9% YoY to $0.85 in the fourth quarter, while Verizon’s (VZ) are expected to rise ~26.7% YoY to $1.09. Windstream Holdings’ (WIN) and Frontier Communications’ (FTR) adjusted EPS are expected to be -$2.72 and -$0.13, respectively.
