Frontier Communications’ Earnings and Revenues in 2018

Frontier Communications (FTR) reported an adjusted EPS of -$1.31 in the first nine months of 2018—compared to -$3.20 during the same period in 2017. In the third quarter, the company reported an adjusted EPS of -$0.07—compared to -$0.94 in the third quarter of 2017. Wall Street analysts expect Frontier Communications to report an adjusted EPS of -$0.13 in the fourth quarter.

In comparison, AT&T’s (T) adjusted EPS is expected to rise ~9.0% YoY (year-over-year) to $0.85 in the fourth quarter. Verizon’s (VZ) adjusted EPS is expected to grow ~26.7% YoY to $1.09. Comcast’s (CMCSA) adjusted EPS is expected to rise ~26.5% YoY to $0.62 in the fourth quarter. Charter Communications’ (CHTR) adjusted EPS is expected to grow ~27.2% YoY to $1.45.

Revenue trends

Frontier Communications’ net revenues were $6.5 billion in the first nine months of 2018 compared to $6.9 billion during the same period in 2017—down ~6.1% YoY. The company’s net revenues in the third quarter were $2.1 billion compared to $2.3 billion in the third quarter of 2017—down ~5.6% YoY. Wall Street analysts expect Frontier Communications’ revenues to decline ~6.1% YoY to $2.1 billion in the fourth quarter.

AT&T’s revenues are expected to grow ~15.9% YoY to $48.5 billion in the fourth quarter. Verizon’s revenues are expected to rise ~1.2% YoY to $34.4 billion. Comcast’s revenues are expected to grow ~26.2% YoY to $27.7 billion in the fourth quarter. Charter Communications’ revenues are expected to rise ~5% YoY to $11.1 billion.
