Why T-Mobile’s Revenue Continued to Rise in the Third Quarter

T-Mobile’s revenue improved in Q3 2018

In the third quarter, T-Mobile’s (TMUS) total revenue rose ~8.2% YoY to $10.8 billion from $10.0 billion, beating analysts’ consensus estimate of $10.7 billion. This increase was mainly due to its service revenue growing ~5.7% YoY to $8.1 billion from $7.6 billion, driven by branded prepaid, branded postpaid, and wholesale revenue.

Other major US wireless carriers

In the third quarter. Verizon’s (VZ) wireless revenue rose ~6.5% YoY to $23.0 billion, while AT&T’s (T) domestic wireless revenue rose ~3.3% YoY to $17.9 billion. Meanwhile, Sprint’s (S) wireless revenue rose ~7.4% YoY to $8.2 billion in the second quarter of fiscal 2018 (ended in September).
