T-Mobile and Verizon Networks Outperformed AT&T in Sacramento

AT&T’s overall network performance in Sacramento

RootMetrics recently released its findings on the wireless network performance of the four largest carriers in the Sacramento market. According to the first half 2018 RootScore report for Sacramento, T-Mobile (TMUS) shared the top spot along with Verizon (VZ) in the overall network performance category. AT&T (T) and Sprint (S) ranked third and fourth, respectively, for overall network performance. AT&T’s ranking fell from the top spot in the second half of 2017.

AT&T earned scores of 95.8 for overall network performance in Sacramento compared with Verizon’s score of 96.4, T-Mobile’s score of 97.3, and Sprint’s score of 94.4.

According to the first half 2018 RootScore report for Sacramento, T-Mobile captured the top spot in the network reliability and call performance categories, while Verizon captured the top spot in the network speed and data performance categories. AT&T shared the second place with Sprint and Verizon in network reliability and call performance categories, while AT&T ranked third in network speed and data performance categories.

According to the report, T-Mobile and Verizon registered the fastest median upload speeds of 11.1 Mbps (megabits per second) and 12.3 Mbps, respectively. Verizon had The fastest median download speed of 28.8 Mbps. Sprint’s median download speed rose from 12.4 Mbps in the second half of 2017 to 19.6 Mbps in the first half of 2018. In addition, T-Mobile didn’t register any mobile-to-mobile dropped calls during testing in the first half of 2018.
