T-Mobile’s overall network performance in Philadelphia
Previously in this series, we looked at T-Mobile’s (TMUS) network performance in the Orlando market. Now let’s look at the latest network performance rankings in Philadelphia. According to the first half of 2018 RootScore report for Philadelphia, T-Mobile captured the top spot in the overall network performance category. AT&T (T) and Verizon (VZ) shared second place in overall network performance, whereas Sprint (S) ranked fourth.
T-Mobile earned scores of 98.3 for overall network performance in Philadelphia compared with Verizon’s score of 97.7, Sprint’s score of 95.9, and AT&T’s score of 97.9.
T-Mobile’s network performance
According to the first half of 2018 RootScore report for Philadelphia, T-Mobile won or shared the top position across five network performance categories: text performance, overall performance, network reliability, network speed, and data performance. Verizon captured the top spot in the call performance category.
According to the report, AT&T and T-Mobile registered the fastest median download speeds of 37.4 Mbps (megabits per second) and 39.4 Mbps, respectively. Sprint’s median download speed rose from 14.9 Mbps in the second half of 2017 to 24.0 Mbps in the first half of 2018.
T-Mobile had the fastest median upload speed of 20.5 Mbps. Verizon’s median upload speed rose from 5.7 Mbps to 8.1 Mbps, while AT&T’s median upload speed rose from 6.3 Mbps to 10.2 Mbps.
