JP’s NYSE picks

Batting first and playing CF, we have Zendesk Inc. (NYSE: ZEN). We need a speedy SAASY company to lead off.  Yes it is expensive, but the need to automate continues.

Batting second and playing RF, we have New Relic Inc. (NYSE: NEWR). Another fast moving speedster providing cloud-bases application performance management solutions.  A real up-and-comer.

Batting third and playing 3B, we have Carvana Co (NYSE: CVNA). Come on!  Online car used car buying.  Who likes to go to a lot and deal with the salespeople?  Was any product ever needed more than this?

Batting fourth and playing 1B, we have Square Inc. (NYSE: SQ). We have to let Dorsey bat cleanup.  And digital payments aren’t going anywhere.  Square’s EPS growth still is acceleration to +73% in 2019.

Batting fifth and playing LF, we have Weight Watchers Group (NYSE: WTW).  I was going to say we need a real heavy hitter batting 5th, but WTW will do.  The recent pullback in the stock does not make me think we need this company any less in the U.S.

Batting sixth and playing SS, we have Whiting Petroleum Corp (NYSE: WLL).  I had to give a nod to how well energy has done in the first half.  I am actually not a believer in a big energy run-up from here, but this name is still cheap.  It is like the rule we have to play a Cincinnati Red (Joey Votto) in the All-Star game.  There are a few energy names in the top 25.

Batting seventh and playing 2B, we have Canada Goose (NYSE: GOOS).  Very light hitting – this is just a nod to the fact that winter is coming – don’t forget it.

Batting eighth and catching, we have Teladoc Inc (NYSE: TDOC).  Think of this as doctors without borders but no one wants to live in Mississippi.  Why go to the experts when they can come to you via Facetime?

Batting ninth and pitching, we have Twilio Inc (NYSE: TWLO).  Internet infrastructure – ’nuff said.

My write in play actual came in at 28 on the list Boston Beer Company Inc (NYSE: SAM) Because we have to have beer to watch the game!

I like my team and Joey likes his – let the second half games begin!
