Monoammonium Phosphate Prices Reverse in New Orleans

Monoammonium phosphate prices

Like DAP (diammonium phosphate) prices, MAP (monoammonium phosphate) prices were mixed last week. NOLA (New Orleans) MAP prices fell ~1% week-over-week to $404 from $408 per metric ton after reaching $408 per metric ton the week prior.

In contrast, MAP prices continued to reach new highs in Brazil, rising 91 basis points week-over-week to $442 from $438 per metric ton, indicating strong supply-demand dynamics in favor of players such as CF Industries (CF), The Mosaic Company (MOS), Nutrien (NTR), and Israel Chemicals (ICL).

The ongoing US trade war may affect fertilizer prices. US tariffs on certain goods have triggered retaliatory measures from other nations, impacting farm products such as soybeans and weighing down on fertilizer prices (MOO).
