Analysts’ “sell” recommendations for OFS companies
In this series, we’ll rank and analyze five companies in the OFS (oilfield equipment and services) industry with the highest “sell” recommendations from Wall Street analysts. Our list of OFS companies excludes offshore drillers. We have only analyzed companies in the OFS industry with market capitalizations over $100 million. Also, we have excluded stocks that have been recommended by less than five sell-side analysts.
In this series, we’ll delve into the five OFS companies’ individual performances. As of June 25, the average “sell” recommendation assigned by Wall Street analysts in the OFS industry, excluding offshore drillers, was 3% of the total recommendations.
Top five “sell” recommendations
According to Wall Street analysts’ ratings, National Oilwell Varco (NOV) has the highest “sell” recommendations in the OFS industry. National Oilwell Varco designs, manufactures, and sells systems and components for upstream energy producers. National Oilwell Varco operates through three operating segments—Wellbore Technologies, Completion and Production Solutions, and Rig Technologies.
TechnipFMC (FTI) has the second-highest “sell” recommendations in the OFS industry. TechnipFMC operates through three segments—Subsea, Onshore and Offshore, and Surface Technologies.
Oil States International (OIS) has the third-highest “sell” recommendations from sell-side analysts in the OFS industry. Through Oil States International’s Well Site Services and Offshore/Manufactured Products segments, the company provides specialty products and services to upstream producers.
Tenaris provides seamless and welded steel tubular products and related services and other industrial applications. Oceaneering International provides engineered services and products to offshore energy companies. The company also provides services to the defense, aerospace, and commercial theme park industries.
