In our previous series, we saw that manufacturing activities of major developed nations showed some weakness in April, except for the United States and Japan. The possible global trade war mainly affected client demand around the globe and economic activity that month.

Major ETFs such as the SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY), the iShares MSCI United Kingdom (EWU), and the iShares MSCI Japan (EWJ), which track the performances of the S&P 500 index, the UK equity market, and Japan’s equity market, respectively, rose 0.28%, 4.3%, and 0.01%, respectively, in April.
