American market growth
Autodesk’s (ADSK) American market, which contributes more than 40% of its overall revenue, has maintained strong revenue growth buoyed by strong demand for visual effects (or VFX) and other 3D software among media and engineering companies.
Media giants such as the Walt Disney Company (DIS) and HBO (TWX) continue to gain from the company’s VFX and other 3D animation technology. This year, the film Blade Runner 2049, which used Autodesk’s VFX technology, won the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects, and five movies that used the company’s VFX technology were nominated for Oscars.
