Overall network performance of Verizon in Los Angeles
In the previous part of this series, we discussed Verizon’s (VZ) network performance in San Francisco, California. Now let’s take a look at the latest network performance metrics in Los Angeles, California.
According to the second half of 2017 RootScore report for Los Angeles, Verizon ranked first in overall network performance category. T-Mobile (TMUS) and AT&T (T) shared second place in overall network performance, whereas Sprint (S) ranked fourth.
Verizon earned a score of 98.1 for overall network performance in Los Angeles, compared with T-Mobile’s score of 96.3, AT&T’s score of 96.2, and Sprint’s score of 95.3.

According to the 2H17 RootScore report for Los Angeles, Verizon won or shared the top position in all six network performance categories: overall performance, network speed, data performance, text performance, network reliability, and call performance.
According to the report, the fastest median download and upload speeds of 30.9 Mbps and 17.3 Mbps, respectively, were registered by Verizon. AT&T’s median upload speed increased from 9.5 Mbps in the first half of 2017 to 11.7 Mbps in the second half of 2017.
Sprint’s median upload speed declined from 4.7 Mbps to 2.4 Mbps. Sprint and T-Mobile’s median download speeds increased to 22.0 Mbps and 19.3 Mbps, respectively.
