T-Mobile (TMUS) and AT&T (T) shared second place in overall network performance, whereas Sprint (S) ranked fourth. Verizon earned a score of 98.6 for overall network performance in Washington, DC, compared with T-Mobile’s score of 96.7, AT&T’s score of 96.2, and Sprint’s score of 94.1.

According to the 2H17 RootScore report for Washington, DC, Verizon won or shared the top position across network performance categories: overall performance, data performance, text performance, network reliability, and call performance. AT&T garnered the top spot in the network speed category.
According to the report, Verizon did not record any mobile-to-landline blocked or dropped calls during testing. T-Mobile’s rate of mobile-to-landline blocked calls improved from 2.0% in the first half of 2017 to 0.8% in the second half of 2017. T-Mobile’s rate of mobile-to-mobile blocked calls increased from 0.5% to 1.5%.
The fastest median download speed of 28.5 Mbps was registered by AT&T, whereas the fastest median upload speed of 14.0 Mbps was registered by T-Mobile. Sprint’s median download speed increased from 7.3 Mbps to 10.2 Mbps.
