Analysts’ estimates

PotashCorp is expected to report an EPS of $0.11, which will be flat compared to 3Q16. However, earnings growth is expected in the next four quarters. Analysts estimate an EPS of $0.57, which will grow 9.6% YoY from $0.52 per share in the last four quarters.

In the past few quarters, the industry has experienced lackluster growth. There was weak growth across the board for fertilizer companies (MXI) like Agrium (AGU), Mosaic (MOS), Intrepid Potash (IPI).

Investors are hoping that 2018 will be better for these fertilizer companies. In recent industry updates, there weren’t signs of a bounce-back in 2018. The upcoming earnings season will shed more light on the industry’s outlook for 2018. The earnings will help investors know what expect from fertilizer stocks in 2018.
