This substantial rise in the company’s total AUM has followed a strong trend of appreciation and fundraising. On June 30, 2016, Carlyle Group raised $3.6 billion in funds. On June 30, 2017, the company raised $8.4 billion in funds.

On June 30, 2016, alternative asset manager (XLF) KKR & Co. (KKR) reported total AUM of $131.0 billion. On June 30, 2017, KKR reported total AUM of $148.0 billion. Other alternative asset managers reported the following AUM metrics on June 30, 2017:

On March 31, 2017, State Street Corporation (STT) reported assets under management of ~$2.6 trillion. On June 30, 2017, it reported AUM of $2.6 trillion, reflecting a marginal increase of 2.0%.
