Verizon’s overall network performance in Atlanta
In the previous part of this series, we discussed Verizon’s (VZ) network performance in the Columbus, Ohio, market. Now let’s take a look at the latest network performance in Atlanta, Georgia.
According to the second half of 2017 RootScore report for Atlanta, Verizon came in at the top spot in the overall network performance category. Meanwhile, AT&T (T) and T-Mobile (TMUS) shared second place in overall network performance, whereas Sprint (S) came in at fourth place. Verizon earned scores of 98.1 for overall network performance in Atlanta, compared with AT&T’s score of 97.4, T-Mobile’s score of 97.2, and Sprint’s 96.5.

According to the 2H17 RootScore report for Atlanta, Verizon won or shared the top spot across network performance categories: data performance, overall performance, network reliability, call performance, and text performance. Meanwhile, T-Mobile secured the top spot in the network speed category.
Further, T-Mobile and Verizon registered the fastest median download speeds at 33.0 Mbps and 31.7 Mbps, respectively. Sprint’s median download speed fell from 33.9 Mbps in the first half of 2017 to 21.4 Mbps in the second half of 2017. T-Mobile and Verizon registered the fastest median upload speeds at 19.7 Mbps and 18.8 Mbps, respectively, whereas Sprint’s median upload speed fell from 6.0 Mbps to 4.0 Mbps.
