T-Mobile’s overall network performance in San Antonio
In the previous part of this series, we discussed Verizon’s (VZ) network performance in the Atlanta, Georgia, market. Now let’s look at the latest network performances in San Antonio, Texas.
According to the second half of 2017 RootScore report for San Antonio, T-Mobile (TMUS) shared the top spot along with Verizon in the overall network performance category. Meanwhile, AT&T (T) came in at third place in overall network performance, whereas Sprint (S) came in at fourth place. T-Mobile earned scores of 97.5 for overall network performance in San Antonio, compared with Verizon’s score of 97.8, AT&T’s 96.7, and Sprint’s 92.9.

According to the 2H17 RootScore report for San Antonio, T-Mobile won or shared the top spot across the network performance categories: overall performance, network speed, data performance, and text performance. Meanwhile, Verizon secured the top spot in the network reliability and call performance categories.
Further, the fastest median download and upload speeds of 24.6 Mbps and 16.0 Mbps, respectively, were recorded by T-Mobile. Sprint’s median download speed fell from 11.6 Mbps in the first half of 2017 to 6.0 Mbps in the second half of 2017. T-Mobile’s median upload speed fell from 23.5 Mbps to 16.0 Mbps, whereas Verizon’s median upload speed rose from 5.9 Mbps to 8.5 Mbps. T-Mobile’s rate of mobile-to-mobile blocked calls improved from 1.1% to 0.1%, whereas Sprint’s rate of mobile-to-mobile blocked calls rose from 1.1% to 2.1%. Sprint and Verizon recorded zero mobile-to-landline dropped calls. Verizon recorded zero mobile-to-landline blocked calls.
