How Accenture Is Banking on Digitalization to Drive Revenues

Accenture Interactive takes giant strides in fiscal 2017

Accenture Interactive (ACN) was voted as the leading provider of digital marketing services globally and in the United States by Advertising Age for the second consecutive year. In fiscal 2016, Accenture Interactive generated revenues of $4.4 billion, an increase of almost 51% YoY (year-over-year).

Accenture Interactive has worked with several leading brands with the mission of transforming customer experiences. Accenture is working with Carnival Cruise Line to develop a platform intended to enhance passenger experiences using IoT (Internet of Things), wearable technology, and intelligent customization. This capability would allow Carnival Cruise Line to analyze and anticipate the needs and preferences of its guests.

In fiscal 3Q17, Accenture acquired two creative design agencies in Australia and one firm in Belgium to expand its digital and user experience capabilities.

Other major wins for Accenture

Accenture is helping a leading healthcare company to embrace digitalization. Accenture’s myWizard is an intelligence automation platform, which the company’s CEO, Pierre Nanterme, described as an “intelligence automation platform to improve application quality and productivity.” Accenture is also helping the Transportation Security Administration (or TSA) modernize its enterprise applications through software development.

In June 2017, Microsoft (MSFT) named Accenture as its systems integrator partner for the tenth consecutive year. In May 2017, Accenture received three SAP (SAP) Pinnacle Awards for helping its clients design, deploy, and manage SAP enterprise systems. Accenture received more Pinnacle Awards than any other company. SAP presented 19 awards this year.  

During Accenture’s fiscal 3Q17 earnings call on June 22, Nanterme stated, “We have expanded our collaboration with SAP to co-innovate, co-develop, and jointly go-to-market with new solutions that combine our industry expertise and analytics capabilities with SAP Leonardo, the new system that integrates digital technologies including match and learning, analytics, and Internet of Things.”
