
What Do Analysts Expect from Apple’s Fiscal 2Q17 Earnings?

US-based (SPY) Apple (AAPL) will be announcing its fiscal 2Q17 results on May 2, 2017. Analysts expect the company to post revenue of $52.9 billion for the quarter, which ended in March 2017, with a low estimate of $51.7 billion and a high estimate of $54.6 billion.
Apple’s EPS (earnings per share) are expected to be $2.02, with a high estimate of $2.14 and a low estimate of $1.91. If Apple meets analysts’ revenue estimate of $52.9 billion, it would mean a YoY (year-over-year) revenue rise of 4.7% compared to fiscal 2Q16.
Apple beat analysts’ EPS estimates by 0.6% in fiscal 4Q16, when it announced EPS of $1.67. Apple also beat analysts’ EPS estimates in fiscals 1Q17 and 3Q16, by 4.7% and 2.9%, respectively. However, the company posted 5% lower EPS than analysts’ estimate in fiscal 2Q16.
Revenue of $78.4 billion in fiscal 1Q17
Apple reported revenue of $78.4 billion and quarterly net income of $17.9 billion in fiscal 1Q17, which ended in December 2016. Its EPS were $3.38 in the quarter.
Analysts expected Apple to post revenue of $77.4 billion in fiscal 1Q17. Their low estimate was $75.1 billion, and their high estimate was $86.7 billion.
