Trends in Apache’s moving averages

Like many of its upstream stocks, Apache (APA) stock has fallen significantly due to lower crude oil (USO) prices. Crude oil (USO) (UCO) has been trading below $50 per barrel since early March 2017.

APA stock crossed below its 50-DMA (day moving average) in early January 2017 and has stayed at those levels.

On March 28, 2017, the stock was trading ~7.0% below its 50-DMA.

Apache’s 200-DMA

Apache (APA) crossed under its 200-DMA in early February 2017 and has continued to trade at those levels.

On March 28, 2017, the stock was trading ~11.0% below its 200-DMA. The markets might also consider it a bearish sign that Apache’s 50-DMA is trading below its 200-DMA.
