Anadarko’s revenue and net profit margin growth

Anadarko Petroleum’s (APC) revenue rose ~16.2% YoY (year-over-year) in 4Q16. In comparison, its YoY revenue rises were -35% in 4Q15 and 12% in 3Q16.

Could this recent positive revenue growth for APC be a new trend? Investors will have to wait and watch.

Peers and ETFs

While upstream peers Concho Resources (CXO) and Continental Resources (CLR) haven’t released their 4Q16 earnings yet, they saw YoY revenue rises of -7% and -23%, respectively, in 3Q16.

Anadarko Petroleum’s net profit margin was -22% in 4Q16. In comparison, its net profit margin was -61% in 4Q15 and -44% in 3Q16.

Concho Resources and Anadarko Petroleum account for ~5% of the Guggenheim S&P 500 Equal Weight Energy ETF (RYE).
