ConocoPhillips (COP) is actively working on the development of many conventional projects that are expected to come online over the next couple of years.

According to the company’s 3Q16 earnings call, some of its important conventional projects that are underway include Alder and Clair Ridge in the United Kingdom, Aasta Hansteen in Norway, Malikai in Malaysia, and additional phases at Bohai in China and GMT1 and 1H NEWS in Alaska.

ConocoPhillips’s conventional projects that are underway in various regions and their expected timelines to start production are shown in the above chart. These high-quality conventional projects are expected to add ~130 Mboe per day over the next five years. Currently, ConocoPhillips’s conventional assets produce ~800 Mboe per day of production.

Other oil and gas producers

Other S&P 500 (SPY) upstream companies such as Exxon Mobil (XOM), Occidental Petroleum (OXY), and Murphy Oil (MUR) have a presence in the conventional space.
