Noble Energy’s 4Q16 revenue

Noble Energy (NBL) is expected to report its 4Q16 earnings after the market closes on February 13, 2017. Consensus revenue estimates for the company stand at $784 million. 

Noble reported revenue of $846 million in 4Q15, and it reported revenue of $910.0 million in 3Q16.

As we can see in the image above, Noble Energy’s revenues have come in lower than expected since 3Q15. We can also see that its 4Q16 revenue estimate is lower than its estimates for the previous two quarters. Investors should keep a close watch to see how things turn out for the company.

Noble Energy’s year-over-year revenue growth

Noble Energy’s 3Q16 revenue rose ~11.0% YoY (year-over-year). Its YoY revenue growth was -35% in 3Q15 and ~15% in 2Q16. Based on analysts’ estimates, NBL’s YoY growth in 4Q16 is expected to be -7.2%.

Peer comparison

In comparison, Noble Energy’s upstream peers Cabot Oil & Gas (COG) and EQT (EQT) saw YoY revenue growths of 1.7% and ~-5%, respectively, in 3Q16.

Noble’s net profit margin in 3Q16 was ~-12%, compared to 38% in 3Q15 and -67% in 2Q16.
