Callon Petroleum’s Revenue Growth and Net Profit Margin

Callon’s revenue growth

Callon Petroleum’s (CPE) YoY (year-over-year) revenue growth was positive in 2016, as the chart below shows. Callon’s 3Q16 revenue rose ~63% YoY. Its revenue rose -13.5% YoY in 3Q15, and its revenue rose ~15% YoY in 2Q16.

By comparison, Callon’s upstream peers SM Energy (SM), Whiting Petroleum (WLL), and Oasis Petroleum (OAS) saw YoY revenue declines of -10%, -7%, and -10%, respectively, in 3Q16. These companies combined make up 8.4% of the SPDR S&P Oil & Gas Exploration & Production ETF (XOP).

Callon’s net profit margin in 3Q16 was -3.8%, as compared to -214% in 3Q15 and -90% in 2Q16.
