GoPro launches Karma
In September 2016, GoPro (GPRO) unveiled its much-anticipated drone, Karma. According to GoPro, Karma is a compact drone designed to fit in a small backpack. The drone has an “image-stabilization grip” that can be handheld or attached to vehicles as well as any other gear.
GoPro’s CEO Nicholas Woodman stated, “We’re stoked to launch Karma and show how much more it is than a drone. Karma packs Hollywood-caliber aerial, handheld and gear-mounted image stabilization into a backpack for $799. It’s so easy to use, a beginner can have fun straight away.”
Karma comes with a controller and an integrated touch display and will be available to purchase from October 23, 2016. Karma will be available at $799.99 without a GoPro camera. When bundled with HERO5 Black, it will be priced at $1099.99.
HERO5 Black and HERO5 Session
GoPro also launched the HERO5 Black and Hero5 Session at the event in September 2016. HERO5 Black is currently available for purchase at a price of $399.99. One of the important aspects of the HERO5 line of cameras is the auto upload feature for photos and videos to GoPro Plus. GoPro Plus is a cloud-based subscription service where users can easily access, share, and edit GoPro content at any place using a smartphone or a personal computer.
According to GoPro’s press release, “HERO5 Session shares the same small design and brilliant convenience of the original HERO Session camera, but benefits from significant performance upgrades.” It is relatively smaller and priced at $299.
