What Moves Are Institutional Investors Making on Hess?

Almost 98% of Hess’s (HES) floating shares are currently held by 979 institutional investors. The percentage of float held has risen ~1% since 2Q16.

Since the end of 2Q16, the number of new institutional buyers of HES’s shares has risen 13%. The number of sellers has fallen from 310 to 309, and the number of sell-offs has risen ~11%.

In comparison, institutional investors own nearly 85%, 83%, and 99% floats of Anadarko Petroleum (APC), Whiting Petroleum (WLL), and Oasis Petroleum (OAS), respectively.
