What Upgrades Did Apple Make to Its 2nd-Generation Watch?

As part of its annual launch announcement, Apple (AAPL) launched the Apple Watch 2 on September 7, 2016. Although the Apple Watch 2 looks similar to the previous model, it contains a dual-core processor and GPS functionality.

Consumers can use the watch for directions and as a pedometer. The new model is waterproof to a depth of 50 meters.

The Apple Watch Series 2 is priced at $369 for the 38mm aluminum model, and the 42mm version is priced at $399. The Apple Watch Series 2 is priced at $549 for the 38mm stainless steel version, and the 42mm model is priced at $599.

Apple Watch Series 1 is now an entry-level offering and is priced at $269. The Apple Watch Series 1 contains a dual-core processor and a GPU package that improves app performance for users.

Macy’s to sell Apple Watch during the holiday season

Apple (AAPL) will be opening a store-within-a-store in Macy’s (M) New York outlet at Herald Square. Macy’s will sell the Apple Watch Series 1 and 2 during the 2016 holiday season. According to the agreement, the Apple Watch will be sold at over 180 locations starting this Thanksgiving.

Macy’s flagship store at Herald Square will also be selling other Apple products such as the iPhone, iPad, and MacBook.
