
Cabot Oil and Gas’s Profit Margin and Revenue Trends

Cabot Oil and Gas’s revenue and net profit margin
Cabot Oil and Gas’s (COG) 2Q16 revenue fell ~7% YoY (year-over-year). Its YoY revenue growth was -41% in 2Q15 and -44% in 1Q16.
In comparison, Cabot Oil and Gas’s upstream peers Noble Energy (NBL) and Chesapeake Energy (CHK) saw YoY revenue growths of -8% and -43%, respectively, in 1Q16. These companies have yet to release their 2Q16 earnings. Meanwhile, EQT (EQT) saw YoY revenue growth of -71% in 2Q16.
Cabot also saw a fall in its net profit margin. In 2Q16, the margin was -22%. It had been -9% in 2Q15 and -19% in 1Q16.
