Anadarko’s revenue and EPS trends
Anadarko Petroleum’s (APC) 1Q16 revenue fell by ~35% YoY (year-over-year). In comparison, its YoY revenue growth was -54% in 1Q15 and -33% in 4Q15.
We note from the above graph that since 1Q15, its revenues have grown negatively on a year-over-year basis, every quarter. Concurrently, APC’s earnings have also been negative. Revenue growth in the past three quarters has been hovering around -34%.
Lower realized prices have pulled down the revenues of several upstream companies, which in turn have affected their earnings. APC’s peers Apache (APA) and Cimarex (XEC) reported revenue growth of -35% and -33% year-over-year, respectively, in 1Q16.
