ConocoPhillips’s 2Q16 revenue estimates
ConocoPhillips (COP) is set to report its 2Q16 earnings before the Market opens on July 28, 2016. For 2Q16, Wall Street analysts expect ConocoPhillips to report revenue of ~$7.1 billion, ~14% lower compared to its 2Q15 revenue of ~$8.3 billion.
When compared sequentially with 1Q16, however, ConocoPhillips’s 2Q16 revenue expectations are ~39% higher.
Due to the steep downward trend in energy prices, many upstream companies such as Energen (EGN), WPX Energy (WPX), and Range Resources (RRC) are expecting ~48%, ~47%, and ~12% year-over-year falls in their 1Q16 revenues, respectively. The Vanguard Energy ETF (VDE) invests in the broader energy market.
ConocoPhillips’s 2Q16 earnings per share estimates
For 2Q16, Wall Street analysts expect ConocoPhillips to report adjusted EPS (earnings per share) of -$0.56, $0.63 lower than its 2Q15 EPS of $0.07 per share. When compared sequentially with 1Q16, however, COP’s 2Q16 earnings expectations are $0.39 higher.
ConocoPhillips’s 2Q16 EBITDA estimates
For 2Q16, Wall Street analysts expect ConocoPhillips to report EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortization) of ~$1.5 billion, ~41% lower than its 2Q15 adjusted EBITDA of ~$2.6 billion. When compared sequentially with 1Q16, COP’s 2Q16 EBITDA expectations are ~68% higher.
