Comcast’s Performance in Fiscal 2Q16 Not That Impressive

Comcast (CMCSA) announced its fiscal 2Q16 earnings on July 27, 2016. It declared EPS (earnings per share) of $0.83, which exceeded Wall Street analysts’ estimate of $0.81. Its share price closed at $67.92 on July 27. The company’s stock rose by 1.1% on July 27 and has risen 8.7% in the past month.

Comcast had total revenues of $19.3 billion in fiscal 2Q16, a 2.8% rise YoY (year-over-year). Its operating income declined by 1% YoY to $4.1 billion in fiscal 2Q16. The company had an operating cash flow of $6.5 billion in fiscal 2Q16, a 3% increase over fiscal 2Q15. It declared a dividend of ~$0.28 per share for fiscal 2Q16, payable on October 26,2016.
