What’s NetApp Gained from Its Microsoft and Amazon Partnerships?



Alliance with Microsoft

NetApp’s (NTAP) alliance with technology (XLK) heavyweight Microsoft (MSFT) has lasted for over 15 years now. According to NetApp, “more than 30,000 enterprise customers around the world count on NetApp software, systems, and services to manage and store their Microsoft application data.”

NetApp stated that its storage and data management solutions enable companies to realize the value of their Microsoft technology investments such as the Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft SharePoint, and Microsoft SQL Server.

The partnership provides a “flexible storage infrastructure” that supports virtualization and private cloud deployments. NetApp also stated that companies can now leverage the benefits of the Microsoft Azure public cloud while retaining control over data.

NetApp and Amazon Web Services

NetApp and US-based (SPY) Amazon Web Services (AMZN) provide enterprises with flexible hybrid cloud solutions. According to NetApp’s press release, NetApp’s private storage for AWS (Amazon Web Services) benefits companies with workloads that demand a great deal of performance, control, and availability. NetApp’s ONTAP Cloud for AWS enhances the latter’s cloud storage through enterprise data management. Also, companies can now build scalable storage across their premises and AWS with the NetApp StorageGRIDWebscale.
