Network reliability in Chicago
According to the 1st Half 2016 Metro Area RootScore Report for Chicago, T-Mobile’s (TMUS) position in the network reliability parameter improved by three notches over the previous 2H15 RootMetrics.
T-Mobile shared the top spot in the network reliability parameter for the market with Sprint (S) and Verizon Communications (VZ). AT&T took fourth place. In the previous RootMetrics report for Chicago in 2H15, AT&T and Sprint shared second place in network reliability, and Verizon took first.
T-Mobile’s call performance
Based on the 1st Half 2016 Metro Area RootScore Report for Chicago, T-Mobile, Sprint, and Verizon shared the top spot in call performance. T-Mobile’s rank improved by three notches over 2H15.
AT&T took fourth in call performance in the latest RootMetrics report for 1H16 in the Chicago metro area. In the 2H15 report, Verizon and Sprint shared first place, and AT&T took third.
Instead of taking direct exposure to Sprint’s stock, investors might consider diversified exposure to the telecom company by investing in the iShares US Telecommunications ETF (IYZ), which had ~3.8% of its holdings in Sprint at the end of May 2016.
