Network performance among wireless carriers in Phoenix
Earlier in this series, we looked at the 1H15 performances of the four largest US wireless carriers in two key markets: Houston and Los Angeles. Here, we’ll look at their performance in another key metro market—Phoenix, Arizona.
Verizon’s (VZ) network performance in the Phoenix market improved, according to RootMetrics’ 1H15 results for the metro market that were released on May 20, 2015.
The RootMetrics results for the Phoenix market in 1H15 show that Verizon ranked first there in terms of network performance. Even better, its rank improved two notches since the last review. AT&T and T-Mobile shared the top network performance spot in the Phoenix market in 2H14. In 1H15, AT&T and T-Mobile got the second and third ranks, respectively. Of the four largest national wireless carriers, Sprint retained its last spot in terms of overall network performance for the Phoenix market this half.
Network reliability and speed in the Phoenix market
In terms of both network reliability and speed in the Phoenix market, Verizon ranked first in 1H15and AT&T, second. Verizon was also first in network reliability in this market last half. The carrier’s network speed metric finish improved from third place in 2H14.
Sprint’s network reliability metrics in Phoenix improved from the last spot in 2H14 to a shared third place in 1H15—a position it shared with T-Mobile.
