Verizon gets top ranking in Houston
In the last part of this series, we learned that Verizon (VZ) was ranked first among the largest four national wireless carriers in Houston in terms of overall network performance. The ranking is based on RootMetrics testing results for the metro market in 1H15. The carriers include AT&T (T), Sprint (S), and T-Mobile (TMUS).
In this part, we’ll look at how these carriers performed in terms of network reliability and speed performance in the Houston market in 1H15.
The RootMetrics 1H15 results for the Houston market show Verizon in top place—alone—in terms of network reliability in the market in 1H15. Verizon bypassed AT&T to take the top slot. The national wireless carriers shared first place in 2H14.
AT&T shared second place in Houston with Sprint in 1H15, in terms of network reliability. T-Mobile’s ranking in this metric slipped a notch from 2H14. It finished last among the four largest national wireless carriers in Houston this half.
Verizon tops in network speed index
Based on the 1H15 results for the Houston market prepared by RootMetrics, Verizon improved its network speed. It shared the top spot for this metric with AT&T. In 2H14, Verizon was ranked second on this metric. T-Mobile and Sprint retained their respective third and fourth spots for network speed in Houston.
