Hartford Connector products system

The Phillips 66 Partners (PSXP) Hartford Connector products system transports refined petroleum products. The products flow from Phillips 66’s (PSX) jointly owned Wood River refinery in Roxana, Illinois, to major third-party interstate pipeline systems, including the Explorer refined petroleum product pipeline system.

Hartford Connector also receives refined petroleum products through third-party pipeline systems for delivery to marketing outlets.

The Hartford Connector products system includes the following assets:

  • Wood River to Hartford pipeline – This pipeline is approximately three miles long. It delivers diesel and gasoline produced at the Wood River refinery to the Hartford terminal. The pipeline has a total capacity of 80,000 bpd (barrels per day).
  • Hartford to Explorer pipeline – This pipeline is approximately one mile long. It delivers refined petroleum products from the Hartford terminal to the Explorer refined petroleum product pipeline system. The pipeline has a total capacity of 430,000 bpd.

The Hartford Connector products system also features a terminal and a barge dock:

  • Hartford terminal – This terminal is located approximately three miles from the Wood River refinery. The facility delivers diesel, gasoline, and jet fuel to the Explorer refined petroleum product pipeline system through a direct pipeline connection. The terminal also delivers diesel, gasoline, and naphtha to PSXP’s interconnecting pipelines to the Hartford barge dock. It receives lubricant-base stocks from barges through the same pipelines.
  • Hartford barge dock – This dock is located approximately one mile from the Hartford terminal. It features a single-berth barge loading facility, loading on average 13,000 barrels per barge at an average flow rate of 3,000 barrels per hour. The dock also has approximately 0.8 miles of pipeline that transports lubricant-base stocks and diesel, and another pipeline of the same length that delivers diesel and naphtha, from the Hartford terminal to the Hartford barge dock for delivery to third-party vessels.

PSXP is a component of the Global X MLP & Energy Infrastructure ETF (MLPX) and the First Trust North American Energy Infrastructure Fund (EMLP). PSX is a component of the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) and the Vanguard Energy ETF (VDE).
