Steven Cohen’s Point72 Asset Management, formerly SAC Capital Advisors, disclosed new positions and amended some existing positions after the third quarter end in September 2014. The company disclosed these positions via 13G filings. In this series we’ll go through the positions the fund traded in its 13G filings.


The fund initiated positions in Jones Energy Inc. (JONE), MEI Pharma Inc. (MEIP), and Catalyst Pharmaceutical Partners, Inc. (CPRX).

The fund increased positions in Silicon Motion Technology Corp. (SIMO), RCS Capital Corp (RCAP), Kindred Healthcare, Inc. (KND), Crocs, Inc. (CROX), LogMeIn Inc. (LOGM), Kraton Performance Polymers Inc. (KRA), and Walter Investment Management Corp (WAC).

The fund reduced its position in Clearwater Paper Corp (CLW) and Shutterfly, Inc. (SFLY).

The fund’s portfolio decreased slightly to $13.2 billion in the third quarter, compared to $15.6 billion in the second quarter. The third quarter ended in September.
