Omega Advisors is a New York–based investment advisory firm founded in 1991 by Leon G. Cooperman. In this series, we’ll discuss changes to the Omega Advisors’ holdings via 13G filings post November.

As discussed earlier in the fund’s third quarter update, its US long portfolio declined to $6.79 billion from $7.57 billion in 2Q14. Omega Advisors’ top holdings at the end of the third quarter were American International Group (AIG), Citigroup (C), SiriusXM (SIRI), and Chimera Investment Corporation (CIM).

Omega Advisors’ 13G filings since October

Omega Advisors added to its position in Atlas Energy LP (ATLS) and Altisource Portfolio Solutions (ASPS). It disclosed stakes in Aspen Group (ASPU), Resource America, Inc. (REXI), and Arbor Realty Trust, Inc. (ABR). It trimmed positions in Chimera Investment Corporation (CIM), SandRidge Energy, Inc. (SD), and Harbinger Group (HRG).

We noted in a brief overview last month that Omega Advisors’ filings showed an increased stake in Caesars Entertainment (CZR). The fund trimmed its position in Chimera Investment Corporation (CIM) toward the end of November after slightly raising it in October. A 13D filing in February had revealed an activist stake in Chimera Investment.

You can read more recent updates on Chimera Investment in the next part of this series.
