Venz Box embarked on her entrepreneurial journey in 2011 with a modest yet profound goal: to earn enough money to move out of her father's house. At the age of 36, she reflects on her early twenties, living at home and craving autonomy. Speaking to CNBC Make It, Venz Box recalls the simplicity of her initial aspiration and the determination that fueled her entrepreneurial spirit.

Her venture, initially known as RewardStyle and later rebranded as LTK, originated from her passion for fashion and her vision of becoming a personal shopper with an online presence. Having previously worked in the fashion industry as a fit model, intern, and assistant buyer, Venz Box recognized the potential of affiliate marketing technology to monetize her fashion blog.

At the same time, the absence of such technology in the early 2010s prompted her to innovate and create a solution.

Teaming up with her then-boyfriend, Baxter Box, the duo invested their own money a mere $500 to $1,000 each to develop a website capable of incorporating affiliate links. Undeterred by the financial limitations that they faced, the duo started their journey of empowering online content creators and bloggers while revolutionizing the marketing landscape.

The inception of RewardStyle marked the dawn of a new era in influencer marketing, connecting content creators with retail brands and facilitating mutually beneficial partnerships. Venz Box's ingenuity and perseverance fueled the company's growth, attracting investments and partnerships that propelled its valuation to $2 billion by 2021.

The early days of RewardStyle were characterized by resourcefulness and resilience. With meager funds and a relentless drive to succeed, Venz Box and her husband navigated the challenges of entrepreneurship. From securing a humble office space in a residential apartment to furnishing it with liquidation sale funds, every step of their journey was marked by unwavering optimism.
