Recently, Antonoff and Taylor Swift’s song, “Cruel Summer”, hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart this week. The song was released as a track off of Swift’s 2019 “Lover” album and it has topped the charts about four years later. Both Antonoff and Swift thanked the fans for making their favorite song number one.

Antonoff’s career started as a teenager in 1998 when he formed a punk rock band called ‘Outline’ with his friends. The group released two albums and played at various venues. However, his big break came in 2002, when Antonoff and his friend Scott Irby-Ranniar formed the indie rock band ‘Steel Train’. Drummer Matthias Gruber, along with Evan Winiker and Matthew Goldman, also joined the band which went on to release two EPs and three studio albums while touring extensively.

In 2008, Antonoff joined Nate Ruess and Andrew Dost in a new band called ‘Fun’. He became the guitarist and drummer of the band. The group went on to release its debut album, "Aim and Ignite," in 2009 and its second album, "Some Nights," became their breakthrough in 2012. It reached number three on the Billboard 200 and launched the number-one single "We Are Young."

Fun went on to receive six Grammy Award nominations, winning Best New Artist and Song of the Year, for "We Are Young." The band went on a hiatus in 2014, after releasing a single "Sight of the Sun" for the HBO television series "Girls," and the song "Harsh Lights" on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon."

Antonoff then announced his new solo project, Bleachers, and subsequently released the single, "I Wanna Get Better," on Bleachers' debut studio album, "Strange Desire." It reached number 11 on the Billboard 200 and his second studio album, "Gone Now," was released in mid-2017.

Antonoff’s long professional partnership with singer-songwriter Taylor Swift began in 2013 with the song "Sweeter than Fiction" for the film "One Chance." The two then worked on Swift's fifth studio album, "1989," and her sixth studio album, "Reputation," for which he co-wrote and co-produced the songs "Look What You Made Me Do," "Getaway Car," and "Dress." For Swift's seventh studio album, 2019's "Lover," Antonoff co-wrote eight tracks and produced eleven including “Cruel Summer”. With Swift, Anotonoff won the Album of the Year Grammy Award for the album “Folklore.”

Jack Antonoff has gained financial success in the music industry and he earns an estimated average of $2 million per year from his musical productions alone, as per Marca. But he is estimated to earn much more from his other endeavors and events.

Apart from music, Antonoff has also created a Google Play docuseries "Thank You and Sorry" featuring scripted scenes with footage from Bleachers shows. He has also made some appearances in films such as "Hello, My Name is Doris," and in the documentary "The Sparks Brothers."

Jack Antonoff along with his now ex-partner Lena Dunham bought a $4.8 million condo on 30 Henry Street in Brooklyn Heights. The apartment features a home studio with soundproof walls for Antonoff to work. After their split in 2018, Antonoff got to keep the apartment as Dunham moved out.
