Coachella 2023: How Much Does It Cost to Attend the Hottest Festival on Earth?

Coachella 2023 tickets were available for pre-order beginning on Jan. 13, 2023. Some tickets were selling for as low as $499, not including fees.

Rain or shine, Coachella 2023 was going to happen. Fans of the event were able to start pre-ordering their tickets to the biggest music festival in the world on Jan. 13, 2023. For those who purchased tickets for or attended Coachella in 2022, early access began on Jan. 11.

Prior to the launch of the pre-ordering event, Goldenvoice, the organizer of Coachella, announced that it had very limited weekend one passes left, leaving partygoers with better luck at scoring tickets to the second weekend. Regardless of which weekend people choose to attend during Coachella 2023, we can confirm that they paid several hundred dollars to secure a spot on the manicured grass where the event is held.

When was Coachella 2023?

Coachella 2023 was scheduled to fall on the third and fourth weekends of April. Weekend one of Coachella began on Friday, April 14, 2023, and ended on Sunday, April 16. The second weekend of the event began on Friday, April 21, 2023, and ended on Sunday, April 23.

How much were Coachella 2023 tickets?

Those lucky enough to find Coachella 2023 tickets before they sold out had to dish out some big bucks (and we mean big for two days of unforgettable fun). General admission tickets for the first weekend of Coachella 2023 started at $599. For the second weekend, ticket prices started at $499 and went as high as $599 for general admission.

For those who wanted to add shuttle transportation to their visit, they had to pay $649 for weekend one of Coachella 2023. Ticket prices (with shuttle) were a bit more flexible during weekend two. Prices started at $599 and went as high as $649.

In addition to the cost of the ticket, you'll also need to pay a $50 convenience fee. It's customary for Coachella to tack on a convenience fee with each ticket purchase.

How much were Coachella 2023 VIP passes?

In order to access the venue and VIP areas at Coachella 2023, guests were required to purchase a Coachella VIP pass. During the first weekend of Coachella, the VIP tickets that were still available for purchase sold for $1,269 plus a $130 convenience fee. During weekend two, VIP ticket prices ranged from $1,069 to $1,269.

Did Coachella use a new ticketing platform in 2023?

In 2023, Coachella used a new ticketing platform powered by AXS. Those who bought tickets were required to create an AXS Coachella Fan account. The event organizer also required attendees to download the Coachella mobile app in order to register their wristband.

Now, because Coachella tickets are pricey and often hard to come by once the pre-sale event begins, it's worth noting that scammers have taken notice and often try to take advantage of those who are struggling to secure a spot at the event.

With that said, you shouldn't purchase Coachella tickets from a third party or scalper as the event organizer says it “won’t service, authenticate or support passes” that are purchased from these parties.
