Sprint’s Revenue and Earnings Growth

Sprint (S) reported an adjusted EPS of $0.06 in the first nine months of fiscal 2018—year ended on March 31. The company’s EPS was $0.08 during the same period in fiscal 2017, which reflects an ~25% YoY (year-over-year) reduction. In the third quarter of fiscal 2018—quarter ended on December 31, the telecom company reported an adjusted EPS of -$0.03—compared to $0.03 in the third quarter of fiscal 2017. Analysts expect Sprint to report an adjusted EPS of -$0.02 in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2018, which ends on March 31.

In comparison, T-Mobile’s (TMUS) adjusted EPS is expected to rise ~19.2% YoY to $0.93 in the quarter ending on March 31. Verizon’s (VZ) adjusted EPS is expected to reach $1.17 or remain unchanged on a YoY basis. AT&T’s (T) adjusted EPS is expected to grow ~2.4% YoY to $0.87 in the same quarter.

Revenue trends

Sprint’s net revenues were $25.2 billion in the first nine months of fiscal 2018—compared to $24.3 billion during the same period in 2017, which reflects ~3.4% YoY growth. Sprint’s net revenues in the third quarter of fiscal 2018 were $8.6 billion—compared to $8.2 billion in the third quarter of fiscal 2017, which reflects ~4.4% YoY growth. Analysts expect Sprint’s revenues to rise ~1.2% YoY to $8.2 billion in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2018, which ends on March 31.

In comparison, T-Mobile’s revenues are expected to rise ~5.5% YoY to $11.0 billion in the quarter ending on March 31. Verizon’s revenues are expected to rise ~1.6% YoY to $32.3 billion. AT&T’s revenues are expected to rise ~18.7% YoY to $45.2 billion in the same quarter.
