Infosys’s Financial Services Business Took the Lead in Revenues

Financial services revenues rise 10.1% in fiscal 2016

Revenues from the financial services segment of the India-based (EPI) (INDA) Infosys (INFY) were $2.6 billion in fiscal 2016. This is 27.3% of total revenues. Financial services revenues increased by 10.1% year-over-year in fiscal 2016. Revenues from financial services for peer companies Accenture (ACN) and Cognizant (CTSH) were approximately 24% and 40%, respectively, of total revenues in the last reported quarter.

Revenues from the energy & utilities, communications & services (or ECS) segment at Infosys were $2.1 billion in fiscal 2016. This is 21.7% of total revenues. Revenues from this segment were $2.0 billion in fiscal 2015. Revenues increased 5.1% year-over-year in this segment.

Revenues from the life sciences, healthcare, and insurance (or HILIFE) segment were $1.2 billion, or 12.9% of total revenues, in fiscal 2016. They were $1.1 billion in fiscal 2015. Revenues rose 12.8% year-over-year in this segment.

Revenues from the others segment were $260 million, or 2.7% of total revenues, in fiscal 2016 as opposed to $206 million in fiscal 2015. Revenues increased 26.2% year-over-year in this segment in 3Q16.

Revenues from manufacturing and RCL business segments also rose in 2016

Revenues from the manufacturing segment were $1.0 billion, 11% of total revenues, in fiscal 2016. They were $1 billion in fiscal 2015. Revenues rose 3.9% year-over-year in this segment.

Revenues from the retail, consumer packaged goods and logistics (or RCL) segment were $1.6 billion, or 16.3% of total revenues, in fiscal 2016. They were $1.4 billion in fiscal 2015. Revenues rose 7.6% year-over-year in this segment.
